Navigating Countertransference
October 3, 2026 9am-1pm
Service Description
An equine-assisted CE experience for clinicians and social workers. This course offers 4 CE hours. Horses have a remarkable way of helping us notice what we bring into the therapeutic relationship. Through experiential learning and guided reflection with horses, you will practice the skills you need to navigate countertransference in real time. Expect fresh air, hands-on activities, and yes, plenty of horse time! No prior horse experience is necessary to participate. Learning objectives: 1.) Define countertransference and how it shows up in your personal practice. 2.) Explain how to identify transference and practice the skills you need to navigate it successfully. 3.) Practice using peer consultation to successfully navigate countertransference.
